The beautiful village of Betws-y-Coed is surrounded by deeply wooded valleys, glacial lakes, waterfalls, river cascades and draamatic rocky mountains. The village centre contains a cluster of shops, holiday homes and restaurants and is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Our holiday cottage, Bryn-y-Gwynt, is located on the main village road, not far from the village centre, which boasts a large number of outdoor clothing specialists.
Close to the village centre are the motor museum and the railway museum. Through the centre of the village runs the River Llugwy. The entire area is steeped in history and there are many well preserved Neolithic stone circles, Bronze Age burial chambers, Celtic Iron Age structures, Roman forts and monuments of the great Welsh princes.
Betws-y-Coed is an ideal base to explore this spectacular region either on foot, by car, or on one of the many mountain railway routes. There is ample car parking, a large village green and a model railway that attracts thousands of visitors each year.
