This is one of Snowdonia's most spectacular mountains and is steeped in folklore and legend, and it is thought that Arthur made his kingdom here. Cader Idris is 2,927 feet high. It is probaby second only to Snowdon in popularity. It has 2 glacial lakes, Llyn Cader and Llyn Cau, the latter reputedly having no bottom and containing a Loch Ness type monster.
