This is a range of mountains also known as the Carnedds and include the largest contiguous areas of high ground in Wales, as well as six or seven of the highest peaks in the country. These peaks include Pen yr Ole Wen, Carnedd Dafydd, Carnedd Llewelyn, Yr Elen, Foel Grach, Garnedd Uchaf and Foel-Fras.
