The CAT visitor centre, near Machynlleth (on the A487) is one fo the world's most renowned eco-centres. It has interactive displays and practical examples of sustainable living, renwable energy and organic gardening.
When arriving, visitors ascent a 60 metre cliff via a water-powered railway. The centre takes up 7 acres, and there are amazing interactive displays demonstrating the power of wind, water and sun. Buildings showing how this can be utilised are there to be seen.
This is an interesting activity for children as well as adults.
