Coedydd Aber National Nature Reserve is an area of scenic beauty. There is a steep sided wooded valley leading to a spectacular waterfall in the foothills of Y Cardneddau. The site mainly supports woodland birds, although there are a variety of other habitats such as open farmland and scrub. The woodland has a high dominance of oak and there are many historic and archaeological monuments including round and long huts, cairns, a medieval hafod and an iron age hill fort. The site is managed by the Countryside Council for Wales.
