Lake Geirionydd is popular with boating enthusiasts, water skiers, windsurfers, walkers and families who enjoy a picnic in a beautiful high forest location.
It is the only lake in Snowdonia that permits power boats and water skiing. This ensures it's popularity with the power boat owners and the water skiers despite the difficulty of access on the steep narrow roads. However it does not make the power boat owners and water skiers popular with those among the locals who expect a lake in a National Park to be protected from noisy and dangerous power boats and water skiers.
There are a number of attractive walks nearby including the walk to Llyn Crafnant another lake just over the hill. And the church in the nearby village of Llanrhychwyn is of interest as it is regarded by many to be the oldest church in Wales with connections to Llywelyn the Great, Prince of Wales
