There are 2 reserves in Mawddach Valley, each set in woodland and scrubland, and are home to a variety of woodland birds such as the pied flycatcher, wood warbler and redstart. There are also ravens and buzzards. The reserves are managed by the RSPB. The reserves are named Arthog, and Coed Garth Gell.
