Ynis-Hir bird reserve is managed by the RSPB and is located at the head of the Dyfi estuary, where it attracts a wide range of birds in its tidal mudflats, saltmarsh, freshwater marsh, peatbogs, streams, farmland, woodland, rocky outcrops and bracken. The reserve is near to Machynlleth and on the opposite side of the estuary to Aberdovey.
